I Just Spent $100,000

I just spent $100,000.

Don’t worry. This article is not going to be one colossal flex.

I still wear the same flip flops I wore as a college freshman. I drive an old Toyota Camry.

My $100,000 investment didn’t go toward a car, a watch, or even a dream vacation. Instead, I chose to invest in something most people wouldn’t consider.

I invested $100,000 into myself.

My friends Joel Marion and Dan Fleyshman have put together the most elite mastermind group that I’ve ever heard of, and I chose to get involved.

The preceding sentence makes it sound like it was an easy decision.

Rest assured, it was not.

I wrestled with the decision for about three months – from the first time that Joel was telling me about it.

Don’t get me wrong. The mastermind sounded incredible. It includes mansion parties with A list celebrities, high-level experiences, 24 nine-figure entrepreneurs as permanent instructors in the group, and 100 other seven to nine-figure entrepreneurs as paying members.

My first instinct when I heard the description was “Uhh, YEAH. SIGN ME UP.” But then the second thought came rushing in, “ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS?!!!”

I have never spent that kind of money on something, especially not into myself.

As I took the time to think it over, I thought about all the lessons I’ve learned these past few years. One of the most important truths I’ve come to understand is that the only sure investment in life is the one that you make into yourself.

Businesses can open and close, money can come and go, and economies can fluctuate – but knowledge and connections don’t go anywhere.

Would I have liked to ditch the old Camry sitting in my garage and buy an exotic car? Sure. And one day, I will.

But for now, I’m going to continue investing in myself. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

When is the last time you got out of your comfort zone and bet on yourself? That’s all investing in yourself is, by the way. It is putting your money on you. If you aren’t willing to put your money on yourself, how can you expect your clients, mentors, investors, or anyone else to put their money on you?

Thanks for reading, oh, and by the way, there are nine spots left to fill in this $100k mastermind, so if you want to jump in, let me know, and I’ll make an intro to Joel.

But serious inquiries only, because Joel is a very persuasive person.
