Tim Brown (@81timbrown ) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the NFL. He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, where he won the Heisman Trophy , becoming the first wide receiver to do so. He spent sixteen years with the Los Angeles Raiders , during which he established himself as one of the NFL’s greatest wide receivers of all time . Brown has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2015, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame .
Brown was named first-team All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in kickoff returns (41 for 1,098 yards, 26.8 average, and 1 TD) and setting a rookie record for combined net yards. He was also named first-team All-AFC six times – once as a kick returner, once as a punt returner, and four times at wide receiver. He was also named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1990s .
