      • Because he didn’t have a lot of options, he took his job seriously.
        • Because he didn’t turn over, he got promoted every 6 months.
        • He then became the director of the company making $80k a year.
      • At 18 he got a management training job with a bank.
        • After a few months, he gets his own bank to manage.
        • He did this for about 7 years and then became VP.
      • What kind of a role did confidence play in your ability to land high-profile jobs?
        • It was the confidence in his ability to figure it out.
        • He wanted it bad enough, so he found ways to make it happen.
        • His entire success in corporate America was completely founded on working a full 40 hours at work.
        • Life is simple, it’s just not easy.
      • Do you believe that what you know or who you know is more important, and why?
        • Who you know holds more weight than what you know.
        • You have to be a person of value.
        • The key to networking is knowing what your value proposition is.
        • Many people spend so much time pitching themselves, they don’t build a real and valuable network.
      • If someone asked you if they should spend time on books or classes or on networking, which would you choose?
        • Pejman learns mainly through doing, not listening or reading.
        • Observation fuels belief.
        • An overload of information creates an inability to focus.
        • When people want to be entrepreneurs, generally they have a reward structure, they don’t want to be the best at their craft.
          • It’s simpler to focus on what you want, not to work on what’s work.
        • If you could boil it down to one tip on how to grow your network, what would it be?
          • Stop pitching what you want.
          • If you know your skill and talent, you don’t have to pitch people.
          • Find commonality and become good friends with people while being genuine in your approach to people.
          • Don’t rush to close sales on the first time you meet someone.
