- Pejman was born in Iran and had a lot of money.

- How do you think the way you were raised played into your success?
- It’s a level playing field for everybody because we all come from different baselines.
- We all suffer from different fears.
- He came from a country where he realized the value of work.
- He realized at a young age that the alternative to doing nothing was staying nothing.
- Because he didn’t have a lot of options, he took his job seriously.
- Because he didn’t turn over, he got promoted every 6 months.
- He then became the director of the company making $80k a year.
- At 18 he got a management training job with a bank.
- After a few months, he gets his own bank to manage.
- He did this for about 7 years and then became VP.
- What kind of a role did confidence play in your ability to land high-profile jobs?
- It was the confidence in his ability to figure it out.
- He wanted it bad enough, so he found ways to make it happen.
- His entire success in corporate America was completely founded on working a full 40 hours at work.
- Life is simple, it’s just not easy.
- Do you believe that what you know or who you know is more important, and why?
- Who you know holds more weight than what you know.
- You have to be a person of value.
- The key to networking is knowing what your value proposition is.
- Many people spend so much time pitching themselves, they don’t build a real and valuable network.
- If someone asked you if they should spend time on books or classes or on networking, which would you choose?
- Pejman learns mainly through doing, not listening or reading.
- Observation fuels belief.
- An overload of information creates an inability to focus.
- When people want to be entrepreneurs, generally they have a reward structure, they don’t want to be the best at their craft.
- It’s simpler to focus on what you want, not to work on what’s work.
- If you could boil it down to one tip on how to grow your network, what would it be?
- Stop pitching what you want.
- If you know your skill and talent, you don’t have to pitch people.
- Find commonality and become good friends with people while being genuine in your approach to people.
